How we run it.
Last mile is the most expensive metre in the chain and the easiest one to be quietly robbed in. We measure per attempt rather than per order, fix return-to-origin causes in the order they cost you money, and where the data supports it put a fraud check inside the flow rather than in a monthly report.
One partner held three consecutive last-mile roles at a B2B commerce marketplace: hub expansion, first and last mile product design, then the supply chain technology charter. Measured outcomes on that record include return-to-origin down from 14% to 8% and fake deliveries down from 27% to 9% in three months. Operating roles, not client work.
